Well in July, Melanie Peterson finished writing her short film Lost Hope and so PSP and Kourtyard paired up for the last time and filmed it. It's a short about two sisters and their struggle to cope after a tragic loss. Melanie also directed this deep short, and has become an amazing director. We also had a chance to work with Julia Colbert! First time in many years, it was good to work with her again!
After it was finished filming it was off to the editing room.
I, Jessica, was working at a local pet store at this time (July) and quickly became a Manager working 11 hour days 4-5 days a week. Then I started worked at another job, thus having a full time job AND a part time job at the same time. Needless to say my time went from some to none and all film-making stopped. Melanie moved to Nebraska for work as a nurse, and Kourtyard Film & Photography and Providential Starlight Productions went their separate ways for various reasons. Both sides contiue to cheer the other on in their pursuit of creating good films, but our amazing and completely worth-while pairing needed to separate, because of our desire to make drastically different genres of films.
With that being said Kourtyard has graciously agreed to finish Lost Hope and Rampage By Definition. With Lost Hope being done, RBD is just a few blips away from being releasable! Editing is complete and Scott is working hard on the score. We look forward to a release date within the next 3 months. *fingers crossed*
But now I am working just one job and am going to try and start film-making again. Just need to get some teams decided on a project and then find a DP and Editor. But with the Denver Film School being so close I have few worries in finding capable individuals in their fields.
So that's the update. I greatly look forward to working on and releasing more films in the future as we continue to learn and grow! We are far from done! :)
Thanks and Happy Filmmaking!
Jessica Cunningham
