Last Saturday we did NOT have a shoot. We were supposed to do several small scenes and it would be a really short day. However almost all the filming was to take place outside...and with this being March in Colorado we got like 6 inches of snow and occasional blizzard like conditions. One of the scenes snow would have been a major continuity issue and the others I didn't want to subject my cast and crew to such crappy conditions (we did that once in Two Below, where it was literally almost two degrees below zero on the shoot day, and we didn't want to do that again). So we canceled the entire shoot.
But what else has been going on?
Well we have so many more responses for the party scene this Saturday, which is incredibly exciting! We will be able to have a legit awesome party scene! The scene will look amazing! I am very excited! We are hoping things will flow smoothly and quickly. And remember, if YOU want to be an extra then be sure to contact me and I will tell you when and where this Saturday (March 30th)!
Kourtny and I also met with Trai yesterday (Tuesday). She helped us come up with a game plan for fundraising for the feature film, how to keep extras happy, encouraged us in our plans for the future and was just a wealth of knowledge!
We found a perfect location for an important scene in Rampage. And we got permission for an important location for Daniel. We have permission from the band Shatterproof to use a song in Rampage!
Today Kourtny and I figured out a fun way to shoot a drowning scene! Kourtny hates water so she did the camera and put my head in a clear tote, the shot will be beautiful!
And we have done lighting tests for the party scene, it's going to look so cool! Red lighting, a strobe light, a disco light, it looks really cool and party light! And we are going to get glow stick jewelry and have our extras wear them, it's going to look perfect!
I am making lists on my whiteboard now of all the things (big and little) that I need to get done, it's nice to erase stuff...but the list is imposing at times.
You might be wondering how the Monday Challenge for Film Riot went? We didn't win. :( The winners did a fantastic job though! However it won't be the last contest we enter, maybe we'll do better in the next one(s)! :)
Well I think that is all for now. I will check back soon (not wait a week and a half!) and let you know if anything happens between now and Saturday...and if not, then I'll obviously let you know how Saturday (9am-12am) goes! But we finally get to switch out our boys! Cullen in the morning and until about 8 then release him to relax and film with Brendan the rest of the night. Which is how almost all our shoots will be for Daniel. Different actors, but same system.
Anyway, enjoy and happy filmmaking!
